MEK Rub Test Machine
The MEK Rub Test Machine is a semi-automated, pneumatic testing device built by DJH Designs to evaluate coating durability and solvent resistance. A constant-pressure dead weight rubbing block removes the inconsistency that comes with manual double-rub testing, giving repeatable, standardized results from the lab bench to the production line — while keeping setup and operation simple. Because the machine runs entirely on compressed air with no electrics, it’s intrinsically safe and keeps operators away from direct solvent contact during testing.
A 425cc solvent reservoir with automatic shutoff and an adjustable solvent flow metering valve keep consumption to a minimum, while the quick-change solvent pad system speeds up test preparation between runs. A programmable stroke counter (1–9999) tracks double rubs precisely, and front panel mounted controls keep operation straightforward. The machine is ASTM D7835 compliant and CE certified, and optional accessories — a dual reservoir, a variable stroke kit, and a variable weight head — extend it to non-standard panels and both ASTM and EU testing requirements.
