Gardner Color Liquids

Objective color and haze measurement for transparent and translucent liquids — varnishes, resins and beverages. Ensures consistent lot-to-lot quality throughout production.

Human eyes perceive color differently depending on fatigue, age and lighting. Spectrophotometers provide objective, repeatable color data , ensuring every batch leaving your facility meets the agreed standard, regardless of who measures it or when.

Multi-component products ( dashboards, furniture sets, packaging lines ) require parts from different suppliers to match visually. Digital color standards exchanged between portable and benchtop instruments guarantee harmony across the entire supply chain.

Metallic, pearlescent and interference pigments look different at every viewing angle from 15 up to 110 degrees. Multi-angle spectrophotometers capture the full color travel and flake sparkle — parameters that a single-angle measurement simply cannot detect.

For injection-molded or slush-molded interior parts, grain structure is as important as color. Objective 3D profiling measures cell size, perceived depth and reflectivity contrast — the only way to guarantee grain harmony across different materials and suppliers.

Fluorescent materials degrade under sunlight, causing color shift during a product’s lifetime. Instruments with a fluorimeter quantify fluorescence intensity and calculate the predicted color change — enabling early decisions in formulation and material selection.

Even with instrument data, final approval is often visual. Light booths with CIE-defined illuminants ( daylight, tungsten, retail LED and UV) ensure that visual comparisons are made under reproducible, standardized conditions, eliminating metameric surprises in the field.
