Solar Box — Xenon Exposure Chamber

The SOLARBOX is a family of tabletop xenon test chambers providing accelerated light stability and weathering tests using a single superior air-cooled Xenon Lamp generating irradiance up to two times that of the sun. Irradiance is continuously measured and controlled via a closed-loop narrow-band sensor system that automatically compensates for lamp and UV filter ageing — ensuring accurate, reproducible results throughout every test.

A parabolic reflector chamber with the xenon lamp at the focal point ensures uniform irradiation across the full exposure area, providing very good agreement with rotating drum xenon exposures. The Black Standard Thermometer (BST), built into the plane of test panels, continuously monitors and controls radiant heat — critical because kinetic reaction rates double for every 10 °C temperature increase.

Closed-Loop Irradiance Control
Narrow-band UV sensor continuously compensates for lamp and filter ageing, maintaining constant irradiance from 250 to 1 100 W/m² across the 290–800 nm region throughout every test. No manual adjustment required.
BST Temperature Monitoring (Enhanced)
Black Standard Thermometer control range 35–100 °C built directly into the test panel plane. Kinetic reaction rate doubles for every 10 °C increase — making BST control essential for reproducible, comparable results.
Interchangeable UV Filters
Soda-lime glass filters for outdoor (SX05) and indoor (SX06) exposure simulation, with optional IR reflection coating variants. Dedicated custom UV filters tailored to specific spectral requirements are available on request.
Flooding System — Rain Simulation
Available on 1500e and 3000e. Closed-circuit demineralised water system with programmable flooding intervals 1–999 min, water temperature 30–50 °C, up to 50 L tank. Lamp programmable on or off during flooding.
Microprocessor Control (Enhanced)
Up to 15 programmable test programs, 4-line LCD display, RS-232 serial interface for PC data output and printer connection, self-diagnostic with warning messages, and complete automatic test report generation.
Industry 4.0 Ready
Remote diagnostics, firmware upgrades, and real-time manufacturing data sharing via internet connection. Smart manufacturing integration for faster, more flexible production workflows (enhanced models).
UV Multimeter Radiometer
Battery-operated portable radiometer with interchangeable cosine-response sensors — 295–400 nm wide-band, 340 nm and 420 nm narrow-band, illuminance up to 2 Mlux, and BST sensor. Returnable to Cofomegra for national laboratory recertification.
Uniform Irradiation — Parabolic Reflector
Parabolic reflector chamber with the xenon lamp at the focal point ensures consistent irradiation uniformity across the full exposure area — providing very good agreement with rotating drum xenon exposure systems.
